I am Giselle Fenig
My creative process is deeply personal, and my art is an external manifestation of my inner being, my emotions, and my energy. Experimenting with different materials and methods, I seek to create aesthetically pleasing images that express freedom and spontaneity. The result is always unpredictable and surprising, even to me, allowing me to discover new paths and perspectives with each piece. This approach has led me to consider accidents as a fundamental component of my creative process. The beauty of the work lies in its imperfections, challenging the viewer's expectations and inviting greater participation.
My faces may appear chaotic and fragmented, yet they maintain a profound cohesion that reflects the complexity of human emotions and the constant interaction between order and disorder. The contrast reinforces the message and vitality of the work, reflecting life's contradictions.
Through expressive and gestural brushstrokes, I focus on the energy of color, which becomes a key tool to capture the strength of the feminine. Color, in its purest form, is vital to express the intensity of my emotions and the vitality of my artistic process. Figurative abstraction offers me the freedom to explore the depths of my being by delving into universal themes such as passion, identity, internal struggle, and liberation, all of which motivate me to continue creating.
My internal impulses deeply influence my intuitive modeling of the figure. While it is based on my academic training, it also challenges established conventions and norms. Each piece, therefore, is a testament to my continuous transformation as a human being and as an artist. I do not intend for my work to be a finished product, but rather a constantly evolving process; a space where ideas, emotions, and techniques intertwine to create a living and ever-changing work, full of contradictions and surprises. Ultimately, my art is a continuous exploration of what it means to be, to feel, and to create in a constantly changing world.
